The surgeons at our hospitals had outcomes independently rated as best in Sussex for Knee Replacement. With national data as reported by patients in terms of their reported improvement 6 months following knee replacement, data released March 2013. All joint replacements patients have their progress scored to allow benchmarking and continuous quality improvement.

Excellent outcomes

You will be treated by the same surgeon, ensuring a familiar and friendly face throughout your care from the first consultation to the final review. There are no stand-in surgeons and no surgeons in training. We do welcome and offer first hand observation and discussion of surgical technique, philosophy and aftercare details to visiting consultant surgeons. All patients treated as inpatients will have their own room with en-suite bathroom, wifi and TV.

The Sussex Orthopaedic Clinic have developed an award winning Enhanced Recovery programme allowing patients with partial and custom knee replacement and modern hip replacement to go home the same day or following an overnight stay. For all patients it provides for a more comfortable, safer and quicker recovery. Excellence is by design, attention to detail, constant review and reflection, not by chance.

Our Sussex hip and knee replacement surgeons have a zero tolerance for risk associated with surgery and have audited outcome data of no transfusions and no infections attributable to the surgery over the last 6-month period. (there has been one infection from dental origin).

We use a state of the blood recycling system and welcome patients who wish to avoid transfusions including Jehovah's Witnesses. Our clinic’s governance programme reviews all the data on a monthly basis including peer review of all joint replacement x-rays.
